Reading the first two paragraphs brought awareness to my writing norms that I never thought about. When we text our close ones and or friends, we do not necessarily think about writing; it is instinctively natural. Growing up in elementary school and middle school, English would always give out writing assignments with a rubric and a structure on how the writing piece should be structured. This is reflected in the passage Welcome to The Post-Text Future, and I instantly related to how damaging structural writing is. As I got older and teachers got more creative, it was harder for me to branch away from that structurally based writing to any prompt provided.Nevertheless, technology played a huge role in assisting many of my peers and me. The cycle of structural writing began to break as we communicated with our friends and family because we did not focus on writing. As technology continues to advance and trends are continued, the writing style will never be universally understood.
