One thing that I can say for certain is that the way we write has dramatically changed over the years. In this day and age we have multiple forms of communication and it’s all thanks to digital tools and platforms. Such tools, that we have come accustomed to, have revolutionized the way we think of writing and the way we communicate with one another. In the article “Welcome to the Post future” many key points were made on how writing has evolved on this digital platform. We went from thinking of writing as nothing but meaningless words on a piece of paper to giving it meaning by associating it to images and sounds. Communities have been formed around such writings that have been associated with images and sounds.
My personal take on writing and how it is evolving with the digital world is that it is making us less social as we have grown accustomed to interacting with one another through the use of man-made digital tools. I for one don’t like texting or interacting through “social media” because there is nothing social about it. However, I won’t deny the fact that it makes life easier as you can easily communicate with one another and keep in touch with family that might be elsewhere. So I have come to love social media to an extent. On one hand, I like it due to the user-friendly interface. On the other, I dislike it because people tend to interact with one another less and less.

I completely agree with the fact that the usage of social media, ironically enough, has made us significantly less social. It seems to be simpler to text someone, retweet something, or like a comment rather than hold conversations with people in person. The evolution of writing in the digital world continues to grow more “niche”; it changes its course depending on what platform is being used and who the intended audience is. (Think: TikTok vs. Facebook, you’ll see different styles of writing used in these two forms of media.)
