Keats “Bright Star”

When I first read this poem I felt that the author’s voice was very longing. The narrator of the poem sounded like he was yearning to be something else, or to some extent anything else so that he can be closer to the one he loves. I found that the narrator seems to be vexed with the idea of permanence and unchanging. He uses words like steadfast, unchangeable, forever and eternal. This may be a shot in the dark but I think that he is talking about loyalty to his lover. The same way that the bright star is eternally loyal to the night sky and how the water clean the shores pure. The imagery of purity is also prevalent in the poem because he uses words like soft fallen and sweet. He uses the image of untouched snow to show the extent of his love that he wants to last forever.
