4. Just for fun: Here’s a song from the Broadway show “Hamilton,” titled “I am not giving away my shot.” Alexander Hamilton and friends sing about the coming revolution and joining George Washington’s army.

– The setting is in a tavern just as the Revolutionary War is getting started. Four young men are going to join George Washington’s army. The characters are Alexander Hamilton, a 19-year-old who would go on to set up the U.S. Treasury Department, the Marquis de Lafayette, a 19-year-old French aristocrat who fought with the colonists, John Laurens, who fought with the colonists, especially to free the black slaves, and Hercules Mulligan, who became a spy for George Washington.
