Erika Dreifus‘s first poetry collection, Birthright, will be published by Kelsay Books on November 5. More information is available on Erika’s website.
Sean O’Toole‘s essay “Epigrammatic Inheritance: ‘Writing in Lightning’ in Meredith, Wilde, and Le Gallienne” is just out in the Modern Humanities Research Association’s Yearbook of English Studies.
Rebecca L. Salois and Andrea L. Fernández have launched a podcast this semester, WHY DO WE READ THIS? It connects the texts they teach in their Great Works of Literature classes to pop culture and current events. Available on SoundCloud and Stitcher. Forthcoming on Apple Podcast. They encourage all professors, especially those teaching Great Works, to give it a listen, utilize it in their classes as they see fit, and pass it on to their students. Three poems by Grace Schulman, “Light in Genoa,” “Because,” and “Exile” appear in the current issue of the Hudson Review. Additionally, two poems appear in the anthology The Eloquent Muse, edited by Elise Paschen (Persea, 2019).
CONFERENCES, READINGS, WORKSHOPS & PRESENTATIONS
Erika Dreifus will appear with Julia Knobloch to read from and discuss their new poetry collections (Birthright and Do Not Return, respectively) at Shakespeare & Co. (939 Lexington Avenue location, close to the 68th Street/Hunter College subway station) on Wednesday, November 13, at 6:30. The event will be moderated by Talya Zax, Deputy Culture Editor for the Forward.

December 13. Applications for a PSC-CUNY Research Award are due by 5pm. Check the Research Foundation’s website for eligibility requirements, the application link, and other details.

> Titles of articles, essays, chapters, poems, songs, and speeches are wrapped in quotation marks
> Titles of books, films, periodicals, plays, and databases are italicized
3) Attach any relevant hyperlinks to words or phrases like this (not like this: http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/wsas/academics/english/index.htm).
Multiple submissions and submissions in multiple categories are welcome!
