“A Vagabond Troupe Gets Its First Home”

New York City’s Theater For A New Audience has produced classical dramas for 34 years now. However, their locations have always been a little strange. Past locations include school gymnasiums, local YMCAs, and churches. For over three decades now the theater company has been “homeless”. In a city notorious for sky high real-estate prices, the theater troupe has struggled for a long time. They have finally found a permanent home in Fort Greene. Not only does their move on Tuesday present a milestone in the company’s life, it also helps to solidify Fort Greene’s new-found establishment as an arts district. The theater company’s new home will be located close to the Brooklyn Academy of the Music along with other fine and performing arts establishments. The neighborhood is definitely shaping up into a hub for culture, arts and entertainment.
