Adultery on 2 Apr 2012
April 2, 2012 by Eric.Kim
The lovestory between Gurov and Anna in “the lady with the dog” by Anton Chekhov is a story of their act of adultery. the definition of “adultery” is voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not his or her spouse from Oxford dictionary.
Even though they both are not happy with their marriage, their status is Still “married,” not “separated or single.”
If Gurov wants to get away from his wife, there’s some ways to it absolutely. If Anna is not happy with her husband and tired of her life, she should’ve done something else.
Yes, they could fall in love at the first sight… However, if they want to continue with their love affair, they should end up with their current marriage. Without that, it would just be an adultery.
One Response to “Adultery on 2 Apr 2012”
Hi Eric,
I’ve enjoyed reading your responses to “Lady with a Dog.” Now, keep moving forward into other texts–I look forward to hearing your commentary and thoughts and reflections on many of the texts we’re reading and discussing. It would be especially great to hear you write about some of our readings before we discuss them in class, as preparation for our discussions. Why not try posting on “Love in a Fallen City” before we talk about it in class? POst some questions or comments you have, or reflect on the characters, their situations, their interactions, etc.
Also, think about adding an”About this Blog” and “About Me” pages that explain your blog, its theme, who you are and what your interests are, and why you’re doing this blog, etc. Finally, you might play with design a little, if you have time. Add some links to sits with ideas or issues related to your interests, or some images, or embed a video.
