James’ video was remarkably visually stimulating because of his triple threat: the object of focus, camera angles, and use of colors. James focuses on a single eye surrounded by white light, in his latest piece. The eyeball moves erratically in different directions and can evoke different emotions depending on interpretation. His camera angle only shows one eye and leaving his viewers to wonder about the other eye. Lastly, the piece’s uses of bright white light and lighter colors left me with a psychedelic feeling. While the piece was enjoyable, use of blurring and zoom would have added a beautiful layer of texture to it.
