Video 2 Response

In Brandon’s video, Papier, I really enjoyed the relationship between the paper and the hand as well as the movement of the camera. The positioning of the camera, accompanied by the movements of the camera created a very intimate relationship between the pages and the hand that was caressing them.

I think I was most drawn to this because of the underlying mystery in the video. The finger moves on the pages as if it is reading words on the page, but nothing is actually there.

Something about the blank pages really allowed the viewer to individually place whatever they envision on the pages. To me, the pages of the book were much like a diary. However, instead of the diary being filled with memories and thoughts that have already happened, the pages are empty because they represented the unwritten future that we have yet to encounter.
