Spring is in the air, which means it is time to put your heavy coats, and sweaters away!  One of my favorite fashion magazines is Glamour Magazine and an article was posted recently by Megan Gustashaw titled”10 Must have pieces to add to your wardrobe” . 1. The sporty Dress:

This is a delicate and flirty dress that can be worn on a date, or on a warm spring night , or day out with friends. It is very flattering and comfortable. 2. White Pumps:

Black doesn’t quite work with spring’s pale, pretty colors, and skin-tone-matching heels have been done again and again. Try optic white this season for a fun update to your going-out look. Cap-toe pumps are very in this season! You can find these gorgeous shoes at Piperlime.com for $69.99.

3. The boyfriend jeans:

If these are not the most comfortable jeans, then I do not know what is! Dress them up with a blazer and low-heeled pumps or down with minimal, flat sandals and a boho top. 4. Crossover Tank:

It’s tempting to reach for that tee on the regular, but why not try one of spring’s minimal-meets-boho crossover tanks instead? They’ll make Sunday’s slouchy jeans and messy topknot look purposeful and pretty, and you can dress them up for the office on weekdays as well. 5. Block Heels:

Fancy enough to wear with skirts and dresses and almost as comfortable as your beloved flip-flops, spring’s low, block-heeled sandals are a gift from the fashion gods. I found great heels at forever 21 for $32.80 in brown and black. These will match any outfit!

6. A skirt with a split:

Skirts with daring, front-facing splits are the sexiest trend to come around since bandage dresses became a thing (and unlike bandage dresses, these babies come in every length and volume imaginable).  I found a playful chiffon maxi skirt in a beautiful taupe color at charlotte russe for only $26.99.

7.A round-shoulder coat:

It is spring’s lightweight jacket. Even though I am devoted to fitted coats, I decided to give this round-shoulder coat a try and trust me, it looks great! Try this bold look from asos.com . It is currently on sale from $144.25 to $86.55.

8. An Ipad-size bag:

Whether or not you’re gadget-obsessed, iPad-size bags in bold colors and materials are the modern girl’s new go-to. I really love this yellow neon bag from Forever 21 for only $29.80.

9.A striped button-down:

This is probably one of my favorite spring items since stripes are my favorite! Bold stripes in basic colors are one of spring’s most wearable trends, and on a basic button-down shirt they’re a go-with-everything staple. 10. A short suit:

Ditch your dark jeans this spring in favor of a chic shorts suit in a bright color or bold print. Not going to fly in your workplace? Save this look for brunch with the girls. I found this great look at Victoria’s secret for $137.50.

Mix and Match Tips & Closet Must-haves!

Hello blog readers and welcome back!  Being that my main concern is to have you all look fashionable within a budget, I wanted to share with you some tips about wardrobe essentials before the next time you go out to buy something you may not really need. I believe that there are certain things every girl must have hanging in their closet and the secret to dressing well on a budget lies in having a few clothing items that can be mixed and matched. This will allow you the most optimal use of your clothes and accessories. Let’s start….

Mix and Match clothing

• A person’s wardrobe must consist of items which coordinate in color, fabric, and shape with all the pieces interchangeable.
• It can consist of as few as five or as many as twenty items of clothing, all designed by you to fit into your lifestyle.
• Determine what kind of dressing suits your normal lifestyle needs and then build your wardrobe around that. Normally, opt for clothes that are versatile, i.e. can be used for both formal and informal occasions
• Mixing and matching allows you to wear different and exciting looks even when you have a small wardrobe.
• If you want to add clothes to your wardrobe, it is important that you make sure that you do not buy duplicates of the same basic color. (red tank top, red t-shirt) Navy blue, black and white are good choices for a basic color.
• Find out what kind of colors best suit your skin tone i.e. warm colors or cool colors. You want to make sure you have a few of your favorite colors in your closet.
• The top half of your body is always more noticed than the bottom half. E.g. People tend to notice the color of your blouse more than your pants. This means that the same bottom worn with different tops will give you a different look every time. In other words, in your wardrobe your tops should vastly outnumber your bottoms.
• It’s always easier to match prints with plain clothes, whereas clothing with different patterns does not match. So as a rule of thumb, at least 75% of your wardrobe should be composed of plain clothes and the rest could be in print.
• A just above the knees skirt with a pair of flats might be a good idea for office. Now replace the flats with high heeled knee length leather boots, you will notice the transformation!
• A little bit of tweaking with your hairstyle, shoes etc, also helps in changing the look.

• Little Black Dress– This is also another wonderful must-have in your wardrobe. The little black dress is perfect for any occasion, such as a date, an interview, dinner, a party, etc. My little black dress has always gotten me out of trouble when I needed something last minute to wear to an event. Hello guys! Here is my look of the week. I love this look because I feel it is perfect for this time of the year as we are entering the Spring season. You cannot go wrong with wearing this on a date, or to a lunch with friends. These colors are neutral, and  each clothing item can be worn again by mixing and matching with other clothes. In this picture, we have the beautiful actress Jessica Alba during her last visit to New York City a couple of weeks ago. One of the biggest trends for spring are floral pants! In this picture Jessica paired the floral pants perfectly with a leather-sleeved blazer by Michael Kors, a soft cream top, white Christian Louboutin pumps and accessorized it with a graphic shoulder bag by Roger Vivier. Her outfit put together could cost upwards of $3000.00 but I was able to find this look for a bargain!
