Aaron–Good work overall. Did you ever check with the school to find out if the kids’ parents signed release forms; this is worth doing. Many of your captions are a little long and confusing. Take, for example, the first photo + caption: This needs to be much clearer–is this the only charter school in the complex? Did it take over space from a failing school? If so, need to very briefly say that–this is a big and controversial part of Mayor Bloomberg’s ed policy. Also, in the 3rd or 4th slide, would be good to know the name of the man greeting the students–is he a teacher or a principal?
Nope, I was simply told not to get the children’s faces in the photos which I did for the most part with the last slide being the exception. I only used that slide because you said to use it for the purpose of the slide and not for it to be published that way. I do not know the man in the pictures name, however, they are greeted by several faculty members including the assistant principal. I don’t think the charter took over for a failing school so I did not think Mayor Bloomberg’s policy would be relevant for these slides based on my place story. I do know that they share that floor with a middle school and they try to keep them separated.
