Winning a major fellowship or scholarship is a great honor that can open many doors to new opportunities and experiences. Whether or not you receive an award, you will emerge from the fellowship application process with a stronger sense of who you are, and a clearer vision of what you want to do.
Nationally competitive fellowships and scholarships require effort and commitment from the applicant. Baruch’s Office of National & Prestigious Fellowships can support you in the application process and works with all Baruch students/alumni from all three schools.

Applying for Fellowships Requiring Baruch’s Nomination
There are several prestigious fellowships that require a campus review and nomination/endorsement to apply. You can find a list of those fellowships here. Some of these awards limit the number of applicants that Baruch can put forward to the sponsoring organization. Others simply involve a campus review process without limiting the number of applicants who are considered by the sponsoring organization.
Applicants for these awards must reach out to Baruch‘s Prestigious Fellowships Advisor to discuss their interest in applying for these awards. Email: Fellowships@Baruch.cuny.edu
Fellowships requiring campus nomination all have a Baruch Campus Application Deadline that will fall a week or more before the national competition’s deadline. This earlier deadline enables Baruch to put applicants through the required on-campus review process. It is important to keep this in mind when asking for letters of recommendation for these awards as those letters must be submitted by the campus deadline and NOT by the national deadline.
Applying for Direct Apply Fellowships
Fellowships that do not require a campus review or nomination are called Direct Apply Fellowships. The Prestigious Fellowship office will support any Baruch student or alum applying for any direct apply fellowship. Schedule an appointment for an advising session: Fellowships@Baruch.cuny.edu.
