The weather is getting colder which  after the rollercoaster of different temperatures that the city had been experiencing is quite relieving because it’s not supposed to be 60 degrees or higher in November.Taking the bus at night does not provide the same feeling that taking the bus at any other time does.Public transportation is easily one of the most draining things as a person that lives in NYC.  Nights such as these you can really feel the cold seeping into you and making the hairs on your arms stand up if you are not wearing the proper attire.  The cold weather and the time of the day creates a certain solitude.  The atmosphere provides an opportunity to observe change in their neighborhood.

The way buses function has changed greatly in brooklyn. It used to be that Select buses were mostly exclusive to manhattan but in the past year various bus lines had changed to select buses for some reason. With the ongoing process of gentrification, not only the composition of the community is changing movement within the neighborhood  is changing, the physical aspect of the neighborhood and community changes as well. Therefore bus lines that used to be only limited and unlimited now have more specific labeling such as a select bus or non select bus. It makes it quite burdensome for you need to have a metrocard to get on a select bus because you need to take out a ticket from the machine. Before you could just get on the bus and use change and that was fine. Now if you do not have a metrocard you have to walk a while to get to the train station or to get a bodega where they sell metrocards making the process harder.  This leads to many questions developing, the first and most important being what is the purpose of this new system?
