Train Stop at Sunset: NYC Eye Opener

During the day, New York City lives up to its reputation as a city that is constantly moving in every aspect. The movement of people, the movement of cars, the movement of trains amongst other things. To many the city seems restless yet when everything is dwindling down, moving in the city can be stress relieving. While waiting for the M train one day after class I encountered something I rarely do, a quiet and peaceful train station. The few people that where there seemed drained as if the day had  consumed all of their energy. There was a soft breeze providing the reminder that summer is soon to turn to fall yet it was very comforting due to the fresh air.  The opportunity to sit and wait for the train was available , which is a rare occurrence . Even though the train was taking long there was no rush. In a sense it was a coming back to earth moment because living in the city and travelling using public transportation  feels  moving one mile per second and there is always that pressure that hunches your shoulders and makes your head hurt because you need to get somewhere by a certain time. Overall there is a sense of restriction. But not this day, this day New York City was New York City not just a place that I move around aimlessly. The  Sun was setting but my eyes were opening. It was one of the few moments that I could finally enjoy the city.  Even though it  may sound conceited, it felt like New York City was mine. Like the sky suddenly turned into this beautiful painting  filled with red and blue hues just for me.  Although it may not be glamorous to some extent I considered this a luxury. To be able to feel this way is not something I can encounter everyday and I considered days like this special moments I have shared with the city.
