Museum of Natural History

The air outside was cold yet fresh. Not many people were not coming out in comparison to the  amount of people going in. Children with their families, couples, and overall people of all ages and sizes walked through the revolving doors to enter a new world. Its richness in cultural value to many was seen through the Night at the Museum movies yet no justice can be made when the real life size comparison is made.  The crowd separates into two single file lines ready for their belongings to be checked.  Once that checkpoint is passed, everyone is rushing by to either get their admission ticket or to get to an exhibition. As previously stated, a new world opens and provides the perspective of an ant in the sense of size.   Walking into the exhibition straight ahead seems like walking into a tunnel. Nobody is stopping for anybody and the surrounding darkness makes a person hypersensitive to  the other senses. One minute you are walking past a person that’s talking in Spanish, the next a group talking in french walk in front making you halt for a second. Everything seems to be happening all at once which creates an atmosphere that is not only very exciting but overwhelming. The desire to enjoy the exhibition is there but the tremendous number of people and the desire to explore more creates a juxtaposition on whether you should move fast or slow.  Once the darkened ballroom like exhibition is passed a maze is established in your head. So many choices on where to go and so easy to get lost. The environment and atmosphere are similar to that of New York City .  Each exhibition had its own unique feel and that was transmitted even by the people that were in each exhibition. It is as if the feel that each exhibition had was reflected by the individuals in it.
