Entrepreneurship honors society launches video pitch competition

Have you participated in an business plan competition or other entrepreneurship-related competition? Sigma Nu Tau, the entrepreneurship honors society at Baruch College, is launching a national program to recognize the value of an entrepreneurship education in propelling student-run businesses forward.

How To Enter:

One winning team from each of the 19 participating colleges and universities will be selected. Create and submit a video that highlights the learning process that takes place when students participate in a business plan competition. How has your business plan competition experience added to your entrepreneurial skills & knowledge? Videos may highlight the insights gained by the students and how their institution (school, department, professors, Sigma Nu Tau chapter, competition organizers, judges, other entrepreneurs, etc.) helped them achieve success in the competition(s).

Entry Process:

  1. Go to www.ideator.com & join Ideator (it’s free).
  2. Create your “idea” entry in the elevator pitch section.
  3. State school name and names of students appearing in the video pitch.
  4. Summarize your video pitch in 100 words or less. Provide a link to your video pitch at the bottom of the elevator pitch section.
  5. Invite other students on your team to join Ideator and the team.
  6. Make your entry public (click “PUBLIC” next to the elevator pitch section).
  7. Go to “Sigma Nu Tau Video Pitch Competition Collectionand click “SUBMIT YOUR IDEA.” Select your video pitch/idea from the drop-down menu. Link to collection is: https://my.ideator.com/collections/80
  8. Send an email to Sigma Nu Tau at SigmaNuTauEntHonorSociety@gmail.com to notify us that you have submitted your video pitch entry.
  9. Winners will be announced by May 31, 2016.

What You Can Win:

The top 3 Sigma Nu Tau chapter entries will win “Best Video Awards” of $750, $500 & $250, and their videos will be featured on the Sigma Nu Tau website for one year. Prizes will be paid to the winning schools’ foundations.

The Sigma Nu Tau chapter entries that come in 4th, 5th, and 6th place will win “Honorable Mention Awards” and receive $100, $75, and $50, respectively, in Sigma Nu Tau merchandise credit.
