I found the Japanese version of the movie poster for From Russia with Love and I thought it might be interesting to note that focus is not placed on different women of the James Bond movie in this foreign poster. Instead, this movie poster highlights the action sequences and aspects of the movie.

The times of the past is a different mind set, revealing a bit too much skin is a no no. On the other hand, exposure of skin is acceptable in today’s society.
I definitely agree your comment about Roger Moore’s movie poster for that film, it was pretty bad. Even certain scenes in James Bond films were cut when shown in South Africa during apartheid when “Live and Let Die” appeared because Roger Moore seduces and has sex with a black CIA agent (played by Gloria Hendry) and the posters for that film only showed Roger Moore with Jane Seymour in South Africa….so I do agree that movie posters are made to target different audiences
This is very interesting. I was googling “James Bond movie posters” and I’ve noticed how there are multiple posters for the same movies. In the newer Bond films there are posters of Daniel Craig alone in a dapper looking suit holding a gun and then there are posters of him standing alongside Eva Green. Same goes for all the films. However, I would say there probably has been an improvement from the past being that some of the posters I’ve seen are really bad, such as the poster for “For Your Eyes Only” where a mini-Roger Moore is standing between a woman’s oiled up legs as she’s holding a cross-bow. I wonder where and why different posters were created for different places. Maybe this has to do with different target audiences?
