Windows and Relationships

From the Beautiful Laundrette, I have noticed in Powder Laundry the window that’s a mirror.  In one view of the window/ mirror, you can see a reflection of one self.  In the other view of the window/mirror, is where you can view from the inside to the outside.  I believe that this is window is symbolic to the whole idea of relationships.  For instance, the relationship between Omar and Johnny (or Jonny), on how they don’t want the world to know their relationship and only want to keep it to themselves.  Another example of this one way window is Saleen (if I mispelled his name, I’m sorry) in his cocaine trafficking.

P.S.  is this the right place to put a thread like this?

From Russia With Love Japanese Movie Poster

I found the Japanese version of the movie poster for From Russia with Love and I thought it might be interesting to note that focus is not placed on different women of the James Bond movie in this foreign poster. Instead, this movie poster highlights the action sequences and aspects of the movie.

copyright cops

Sorry to report that I cannot place links to the films directly on this site; given the fact that the public can access much of our site, we violate the terms of fair use if we make films available to those not registered in the class.  So I have to ask you to use the e-reserves link to the right or the “films” tab on Blackboard to get to the assigned films.

UPDATE: students registered for the class can also use the password to access films through the tab above.
