Enrichment Workshops

Hi to everyone,

Until our next class there are several workshops you could sign up for as part of your requirements for the Enrichment Workshops.  There are workshops that weren’t included in the link i sent you but might be considered as an Enrichment Workshop.  In this case you can go ahead and sign up for it and when we meet bring the description of the workshop and i will consult Pr. Wayne if that fulfills the requirements.  We encourage you to choose something that will take you out of the comfort zone, doing something that will teach you what you don’t know.   These are some of the workshops for the next week:

Mon 15-Sep Library Building, 750 12:30-4:00 Baruch Debates Diversity (Limited Seating) Community/Global Awareness
Thurs 18-Sep Library 12:30-2:30 Library Workshop Academic Enrichment
Thurs 18-Sep 3-215 12:30-2:30 Workshop TBA(ethics)
Thurs 18-Sep Library Building, 750 12:30-2:30 American Justice for Sale ( Registration Required) Community/ Global Awareness

I recommend them to all of you.  Remember than whenever you attend a workshop, you have to blog about it in the website; you can say why did you decide to go, why did you like it or why didn’t you, did you learn anything from it, etc, etc.  Don’t forget the Attendance Passport that you have to bring in every workshop and get it signed either by me (if i am attending the workshop as well, i will try my best to be on some of them) or by the instructor who is conducting the workshop.

This is the link to the list for all of them; the list is updated every Friday. http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/studentaffairs/StudentLife/fro/froworkshops.htm

Anything else you want to talk about, you are more than welcome to contact me and i will try to help you at the best of my abilities.

If anyone is thinking to sign up ( or already did ) for a workshop this week or next week, please let me know!

Enjoy your weekend!

i attended the freshman seminar but because they weren’t expecting so many students they had to cut it short, but before i left they gave us a folder and explained what we need to know about minors and answered any questions that we had

Hey! I attended freshmen seminar. It was incredibly packed, but i snuck through to get to the cookies and lemonade. However, when i got there, everything was gone :(. Then, we went into a room and discussed teirs, and nessecary credits for bba and ba. It was very enriching and i would advise all freshman to attend it. Good luck eveyrbody!

I attended the Freshman Seminar on Thursday during club hours. Due to overcrowding it wasn’t what it was planned to be. The advisor I had did however explain some important points. She spoke about the folder we were to receive and about our minors and majors. It was somewha informative and I’m glad i attended.

Lol, yes i heard about what happened. But unfortunately Nikola, it does not count. The purpose of these workshops is for you guys to learn something that will benefit you in a certain area of your education/life. Since the workshop was cancelled, you didn’t learn anything from it. I’m sorry Nikola, but even though you have proof of the signature i can’t count it towards the requirements. It is in your benefit. You did a very good job in terms of signing up early for the workshops!

    Thanks for blogging about this!

I attended the Advisement workshop yesterday during the club hours but due to overcrowding the workshop was canceled. I got the signature from the adviser proving that I attended, so I am guessing that it still counts for a workshop.
