4. The workshop aimed to perfect our interviewing skills. It succeeded
5. I selected this workshop because as life carries on we will need to know how to talk to people and especially how to act while being interviewed. This did not take me out of my comfort zone.
6. It met my expectations. It showed me many tips and tricks to handling oneself on interviews. It’s an experience that i would recommend to anyone.
7. I learned much more than i already knew. I came in feeling like it will just confirm my skills at being interviewed. I actually learned a lot of new material that with absolutly help me in the future.
I attended the Resume Writing workshop. This is one of the workshops I really wanted to attend. One of my problems I have is to write a convincing resume to get the good job and the good money and the good wife and the good house and the good food and the good jewelry and the good life. However, this workshop was an immense attack of help fists that beat some confidence in me. The people in this workshop were very well informed and they helped a lot. They tell you what kind of stuff to include on your resume and how to make weak points sound viable and strong. For example, little knowledge in a foreign language could be covered up as “Working knowledge.” I thought this was interesting because I did not do well in Spanish but I have some sort of knowledge in it, therefore I have working knowledge in Spanish.

this was probably the most helpful workshop that i attended. The speaker pointed out small things in body language and in speech that can separate a person who gets hired from a person who does not. Further, the speaker gave us insights on how top prepare for the interviews. She also encouraged us to go to the Baruch mock interview program. She also let us know what kinds of questions could be asked in an interview and how we can best prepare to answer those question.

This workshop turned out to be rather interesting.
its was in a way a two part workshop Thursday nd friday. ii only went to the Thursday part. It was a was for preping for the next day which was the acctual fair. they gave tips, like how to aproach a table and present youself in a matter of seconds. They also gave tips on how to be ready to pitch yoursle fat anytimes, be it on the job, or whatever. One thing they spoke of was skill transferance. I would definately suggest this workshop, and im glad i did go. Going in iI was expecing something totaly boring, however, turns out I stayed awkae and did like it a bit. Thumbs up. Yayay
I know this is kind of late but, I went to the Job fair Opportunities on November 19th 12:30-2:30. It was a workshop on how to present yourself to the recruiters that were going to be there the next day. The day after this workshop was a continuation of this workshop, where 90+? recruiters were going to be at Baruch looking for young interns for there company. At first I thought this workshop was going to be the JOB FAIR itself but it was just a lecture for the job fair the next day. I thought there were going to be jobs, like it was going to be just like how I had in high school sometimes but it was just a workshop. Well anyway we sat there listened to a guy talk about 3-minute speeches and other things to make the person interviewing you remember you and not forget about you. It was a pretty cool workshop I saw some friends of mine that I had no idea went to this school, and they were people from many years back. I thought it was pretty funny at times but overall. I was disappointed because I thought it was going to be the job fair itself. What is funny was that I ended up not going the next day because I was busy for the job fair. I heard it was going to be a very vast amount of intern recruiters. I will definitely be doing this the next time it is offered.
First I went to the Impression management workshop on November 24th. at 12:50-2:10. It falls under the Career Exploration workshops that we need to attend. But I attended this for my Academic Enrichment because there were no more Academic Enrichments left. =( Well anyway it was a pretty straight forward workshop. It was simply just a lecture or speech of how to make yourself look good. They had some jokes but all in all, it seemed kind of boring. They just basically told us that its not just good to have good grades, or good paper achievements. It’s also about how you are perceived. IT taught us how to interview well with others and make a good impression on them. Not only just making it on them, but keeping it as you go along. I mean I really haven’t been on many serious interviews. Maybe like 4-5 my whole life, and I think I did fairly well on each one. I hope this workshop will help me in the future. Recommend? Eh? I guess I would go. It wasn’t as long as most of the other ones I went to but it is definitely good for someone “new” to getting a job?
I went to the Impression management workshop on Nov. 5. This basically teaches you what and wat not to do during an interview or just when you want to make a good first impression. The goal of the workshop is to teach you how to make a good impression on someone and how to keep that status with that person. This workshop did not really take me out of my comfort zone because they basically jsut gave us information. But this workshop did help me alot on how to preent myself in fromt of others. I would definately recommend this workshop to others because it teaches you a lot of important things. Even if you feel liek you already know how to present yourself in fromnt of others you might find somthing new and it could help you on your next interview.
Basic Interviewing Techniques Workshop Career Exploration October 29, 2009 12:50PM-2:20PM
The purpose of this workshop was to give us an introduction to the world of business. The speaker gave us a basic outline of what was expected of us once we went out into the world of job hunting. Things that were discussed were what kind of questions we are to expect when being interviewed and that the one we should take the most advantage of was the one where they asked for us to describe ourselves. she also gave us tips on how we should calm our nerves, and how we should present ourselves whether it be how we dress or how we sit, and how we should be well informed about the company we are getting interviewed for. i selected this workshop because I thought it would give me some very helpful information that i would be able to use in my future. This workshop met my expectation because i think i learned alot of useful information on how to proceed when going through an interview and what things to do to successfully sell yourself to the employer and company. i would definitely recommend this workshop for anyone who needs pointers on how to nail an interview.

The speaker of this workshop explained in details what to do to prepare for interview, how to behave during interview and what to do after. Since the most common question in most job interview is “Tell me something about yourself”, I learned that I should prepare a pitch and what I should say. I also learned that asking questions at the end is not optional, but a must; it makes the interviewer think that you are interested in the position.
This workshop took me out of my comfort zone because the speaker ,made us give a personal pitch to someone else, and I didn’t know what to say because I am not used to “praising” myself. I definitely learned a lot at the workshop, and it is useful because it count as a prerequisite to mock interview that Baruch offers. I would definitely recommend the workshop because it provides students with important details to know about job interview.

The goal of the workshop was to help students gain a better understanding of how interviews are conducted and what is expected of the interviewee. The presenter wanted the students to ace all aspects of the interview and therefore provided many tips on how to do well in an interview. One should have his/her resume memorized and should have a personal pitch to “sell” oneself. This particular workshop caught my eye because I am not a fan of interviews as i think most people aren’t, and i wanted to get some tips on how to get “that” job. The workshop definitely exceeded my expectations because the presenter provided nuances of the interview process that are important for landing the job such as not wearing scents, or wearing high dark socks (for men). It took me outside my comfort zone because i really had to reflect on my strengths, something i never do. I would really recommend this workshop because it provides you with great tips for the interview process that you otherwise wouldn’t have known about. I learned many tips from this workshop that i will use in future interviews.

The workshop’s purpose was to inform us of the essential interview strategies and techniques that we need to know in order to succeed at getting a job. The speaker told us about the dos and donts of interviewing including some very important hints and tips that should be aware of. We were even instructed to practice some of these techniques with other people during the workshop. The workshop took me out of my comfort zone mainly because I’m uncomfortable with interviewing as are most people. It met my expectations since I expected to be in a large room with a speaker that talked about how to conduct yourself in an interview. I would recommend any of the career exploration workshops because people might need help with a whole bunch of things when it comes to career training, and this workshop definitely helps if interviewing is a major concern for a person. I feel like I learned several helpful tips for interviews from the workshop that I could always look over in the little booklet that was given to us, for example that I should be ready as soon as I enter the building where my interview will take place since I dont know if I could accidently meet my interviewer beforehand and make a bad impression. If I could remove such mistakes, I should be able to do well on my interviews.

This workshop was to inform students about the different techniques that a student can utilized for an interview. She went explaining from before the interview to the day of the interview to during the interview and finally after the interview. First, she went over the researching about the company and different place to do that. She talked about how we should have our resume in the back of our head. She told us about the mock interview that was offered at Baruch. She also explained that we should have many questions for the interviewer because it appeared that we are extremely interested. Then she went through the dress codes. She made us do an interview with the person next to us and we all gave a personal pitch to each other. I selected this particular workshop because I get really nervous when it comes to interviewing. It took me outside my comfort zone because I never particular like the idea of an interview because I have no idea what type of person the interview is. This workshop failed to meet my expectations because I thought it was going to be a small group and do interviews on the spot. I would recommend this to anyone because these techniques are extremely useful in the interview. I feel that I learned how to be ready for interview for a job in the future.
