Film Series playing “My Beautiful Laundrette

I showed up to this workshop because I realized that it was the last Global/community awareness workshop until december.  At the time I regretted not attending any of the previous global/community workhops because by attending this one, I had to spend a whole $4.50 from my metrocard on a day when I usually stayed home.

When I arrived, there were only about 30 people, a majority of them asians.  I closed my eyes hoping to fall asleep, at least until the film started, and opened them again about 20 minutes later to see about 60 or 70 people, still a majority of them asians.  After another 10 minutes of patiently waiting for the movie to start, one of the proctors, or whatever her title is, announced that the equipment needed to watch the movie was absent, so the workshop was cancelled.  It was a bittersweet moment because i felt as if i had waste a whole bunch of my time for nothing, but then she announced that she would sign our passports anyway for showing up.

As for stepping out of my comfort zone, I guess I can say that by going to school on a friday, that is how I stepped out of my comfort zone.  Also, on my way back to the train station, I was stopped by a man on the street who asked for any type of donation to his organization.  I usually ignore these people on the street but that day I decided to actually stop and listen for once, thus, I stepped out of my comfort zone.
