I attended this workshop on Thursday November 5. It’s purpose was to discuss the importance of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. First, the speaker showed a documentary video about the Fall of the Berlin Wall, then several professors whom were present during the event or just a little before it, talked about the changes that happened after the fall. I attended this workshop because it was one of the last global /community awareness workshops. This workshop met my expectations because it was pretty interesting learning about the changes that occurred and how some of the changes were now being countered due to nostalgia. This workshop took me out of my comfort zone, since it was the first workshop that actually had more professors attending than students including the professor for our music class. I don’t know if I can recommend this workshop to others, since it is only offered once, but I would recommend a similar one to other students.

i am also guilty of attending this workshop because it was one of the last ones for community and global awareness. i remember learning about the fall of the berlin wall in global history and how it had a major impact on the people who were divided by it. they showed a movie and then there was a speaker and a few professors who talked. it was very interesting to see how severe the impact of a wall was on the life of some people. families were divided and lives were changed all because of a wall.
to me it was interesting and i would recommend it to others that want to learn a little more about the berlin wall and the conditions it produced.
