As Dominika pointed out, this workshop was another waste of time.  I felt like they were hammering common morals and principles into my head that I have heard all throughout my life.  They were speaking to us like we were children, not college students.  They told us the same exact things during Freshman Orientation and some of our professors took the time out when explaining the course to explain why it is bad to cheat on tests.  If we are going to be required to go and sit through these workshops, whoever plans them should try to make things more interesting and a little more considerate of the audience.

Back in September, I attended the Freshman Reception for one of my workshops.  I got there about 10 minutes early and had to wait on a crazy long line for about 40 minutes before it even started to move.  As we got closer to the door, one of the people at the door explained that they were only expecting about 150 people to actually show up.  It was really unproductive and unorganized.  When the invitations were sent out, they were worded in a way that made this workshop sound mandatory; however, at the actual workshop some of the facilitators said there would be others like it and it was not mandatory at all.  This whole mess taught me the value of organization and planning.

this workshop was terrible. it was short, which was the only good part about it. i felt that i did not need to be told why cheating was bad for me for the millionth time. i would not reccomend this workshop to anyone!

This was a great workshop. The number of clubs at Baruch was stunning and the representatives were really informative. all the information i received was so motivating and i hope to join as many clubs as i can. i would definately repat this workshop for future freshmen.

I loved this workshop. It was so energetic and informative.  There was plenty of room to sit down and the speakers were really cool.

Such a good experience! The lady was so informative and I understood everything. This should totally be a repeated event in the coming semesters!

This workshop was horrrrrible! I waited in line for 45minutes to be told there was no room in the workshop and given a signature. Such a waste of time.

As a whole i was extremely dissapointed about freshman seminar. I feel like it was created with good intentions but was went about in the wrong way. It was made to help us adjust  to the college life style and help answer all of our questions. I personally feel like it made my first semester at Baruch College much harder than necessary. As if all of the papers and tests i was dealing with werent enough, i also had to worry about going to workshops and writing these blogs. It was extremley difficult for me to find time to go to the workshops between my job and classes. Overall i felt like Irina and Manting were very helpful and did a great job. But i still think that for the next freshman class the freshman seminar should be made optional.

I chose to take this workshop because it sounded alot diffrent to me then all of the other ones. This workshop had no interaction and was instead more of a lecture by an important person. It ended up being another terrible workshop. It was about councilman Alfonso Quiroz ” Bringing Diversity to the Political Arena” and it was so boring. He spoke about how he was an openely gay council men who still held political power at the same time. No offense to him because i respect him alot, but this was a really boring workshop which i probably never should have gone to.

The last few days of seminar class we had been discussing how to draft a resume, etc and the importance of one in applying for interships. Man Ting showed us her STARR account and how to apply for interships (hers was very impressive, especially her 3.7 GPA).  Throughout all the FRO sessions, I learned many things, hopefully things that well aid me in building my career.
