Section AKM2A

Unlike most of the other workshops, I feel that this one actually did teach me something. The idea of business relations and connections/networks in order to gain something. I feel that this is an integral part of business, because if you lack the personality to immerse yourself into new situations, than you cannot progress. By creating networks, you expand your horizons, as well as those of your company or own entrepeneurship efforts.

Another workshop that i attended and enjoyed was the career planning Basic interview workshop. This workshop i felt, was actually very usefull because it teaches you what to do during an interview. That could end being very helpful for me when i do get interviewed for the first couple of times. This workshop taught me the do’s and don’s on an interview. It really got detailed. They spoke about what to wear, how to shake hands, and how to come prepared. This was  a great workshop.

At this event we were introduced to internships. The emphasis was that it was absolutely necessary by Baruch standards to do at least two interships before graduating, which to me makes perfect sense. Being that Baruch is business orientated, I feel that the only way to actually learn and acquire such skills is through actual practice, like that of an internship.

The third workshop that I went to was the Ethics workshop. I cant complain too much because this workshop was short. However i still thought that it was abit pointless. They spoke about good things but i felt like it was things that we already knew. They spoke about things like why it is bad to cheat on Hw and tests. They also spoke about why it is bad to lie in general life. All in all it wasnt the worst workshop but i still didnt feel like i got something out of it.

The club fair work shop was the second workshop that I attended. I have to admit that it was much better than the first, this was one of the only workshops that i enjoyed. I was amazed at how many diffrent clubs there were at Baruch College. The clubs that interested me thew most were the culture clubs i met alot of nice people at this workshop. I also enjoyed this workshop partyicularly because it was very organized.

This was a meeting I attended in one of the Weissman Center for International Business rooms on the 8th Floor. I was presented with information and advice I recieved . This  woman came in to explain the convenience of networking, and how to use your resources to further advance something that you are trying to do. I enjoyed listening to Mrs. Neirenberg’s presentation as she interacted with everyone. I also gained knowledge about other members of the audience’s minds when they contributed to the presentation with more discussion, thus establishing a more interactive experience. What she was saying I realized, that information that I had already acquired yet I welcomed the reminder anyway. I also wish that she had been able to stay with us longer and get to know us more.

I went to Weissman Center for International Business and recieved help from their representatives our  resumes. They were very thorough with the information they presented. I enjoyed this ezperience very much. The only problem that we encountered were the computer systems only registered Microsoft 2003 and its predecessors and my completed document was in Microsoft 2009 format. But we did overcome this, and made the best of our opportunity. in all it was a great experience and something i learned from.

I attended my first workshop at Baruch a few weeks ago, and was so shocked  at what i saw. It what was supposed to be an enjoyable workshop experience, but there was no workshop at all, so to speak.  There was pretty much the entire freshman class in one area, and because of the cancellation of the workshop. it was complete chaios and unorganized. the school should learn from this experienece and make these workshops more organzied

I found this club fair very interesting. i did not know how many clubs there were in the school. i met a lot of new people during this workshop because i was interacting with people who shared the same interests. this was the most organized workshop of all and i had a really good time here.

This workshop was very short, which made me very happy. the activities were very fun which made the process fun. i was upset when i realized i had to stay for this workshop but it was put together very well and it made my time a the workshop a great experience.
