The workshop i attended was very helpful. I met a ton of new people and learner alot in the process. The only problem with the workshop was that every single freshman showed up to go to it. There were extremely long lines and took a long time to complete. Hopefully the other ones wont be so bad.
Hey does anyone know where to find that sheet we need for fro today?
Workshop 1
The workshop on tuesday oct 13, was really helpful because it helped explain to me the various recourses Baruch has to offer me, especially in the form of jobs, and educational opportunities such as study abroad, and financial aid. The staff was friendly, and it wasn’t too cluttered.
Career Planning Impression Management-Workshop 2
On November 13, 2009 I attended a workshop about the importance of making a good first impression, hosted by the Development Center. The workshop mostly just reinforced the things that you are constantly told about a job interview. We were reminded that appearances and attire matter just as much as your mannerism on a job interview. The presenter gave numerous examples of how different actions give off different impressions of a person’s personality. Overall, the presentation went well and did not really seem like it was 2 hours long.
Club Fair-Workshop 1
On September 24, 2009 I attended the Club Fair in the gym. I was already familiar with the clubs I wanted to join by this point in the school year because one of my friends showed me around the first week. I signed up for BSU and NABA prior to the club fair. However, I was excited to see that Baruch had GLASS because I was looking forward to joined the Gay Straight Alliance in college. I received a bunch of free lollipops and condoms during the club fair, which is a fairly odd combination.
Workshop #1
I attended my first workshop at Baruch a few weeks ago, and was utterly shocked and appalled at the scene I witnessed at what was supposed to be a fun, enjoyable, workshop experience. First off, there was no workshop at all, so to speak. There was pretty much the entire freshman class in one area, and because of the cancellation of the workshop (due to the rather large turnout) there were 2,000 kids fighting to get a signature. All in all, complete chaos. Maybe the next ones will be less crowded, Let’s wait and see!!!!!
Work shop 1
A few weeks ago I went to my first work shop. I am blogging about it now because I have been so busy. Any way it was a complete disaster, there were over one thousand students on the 5th floor. No one learned any thing we all waited on a line to get our books signed. Nothing was accomplished and it was a complete waste of time for every one. I hope the next work shop that i attend will be much more productive than the first.
workshop #2
Last week I went to the club fair in the gym. This was much more organized and fun then the last workshop. There were probably about 60-80 clubs who had set up tables. As I walked around, the guy from the APPLE table gave me a free APPLE bag. The Ticker Newspaper table was giving out shot glasses. There were various sororities and frats; I did not know that a commuter school could have frats and sororities.
Workshop #1
The workshop was a complete mess. It’s safe to say that almost the entire freshmen class was at this workshop. I waited almost 45 minutes in line to sign in and get my book signed. I had no idea who was in charge, all the T.A’s had no idea what was going on. There weren’t enough folders so some of us didn’t get any of the information regarding Tier II and Tier III classes. I feel Baruch should have used a better system to R.S.V.P. the number of freshmen that were going to attend.
