My experience at Baruch was great. I love it so far and  through Freshman seminar I met alot of people. Its just difficult getting used to the amount of work we have.

This workshop was very unorganized. It was not a good experience. I think the other workshops were much better then this one. There were too many people in one place. I did not learn anything at this workshop.

The Freshman Seminar class seems like it can be helpful throughout our first semester. We can learn many ways in which we can organize our time, seek help and learn the tools that will help us succeed. This class will help us develop the skills in which we will need in order to adjust to college. Throughout the semester this course will provide us with workshops that we will hopefully find helpful. Our instructor was easy to speak to and seemed excited to work with us.

This past week in our freshman seminar class i realized the reason why Baruch offers this seminar is to help make their freshmans transfer from high school to college much easier. I will take all the advice given to me into strong consideration because i know the advisors have once been in our shoes as well.

I think it’s imperative that each student have some form of guidance their freshman year, although to meet every week this semester seems like a bit much. Otherwise the peer mentors seem nice and i will take what they say to heart, given they have been through it already.

I am not sure why we’re being deemed as incapable of seeking help on our own, if we are having trouble making a smooth transition from high school to college. I thought part of growing up was realizing that you have look for help and opportunities because they won’t look for you. The whole idea seems to be encouraging us to regress in maturity and delay accepting responsibility, despite it’s convenience.  However, I do appreciate the enthusiasm of our new instructor, and her eagerness to help us if needed.

I loved the second seminar meeting! I thought Irina was very helpful and easy to communicate with. I appreciated the planner especially because it really helped me organize myself. I really like Baruch so far and the seminars help me to feel more welcome everytime we meet 🙂

I enjoyed my first two weeks at Baruch very much. I was amazed at the size of the buildings and classes. My high school feels like a tenth of the size. In my freshman seminar we just had our instructor switched, i feel veery lucky to have this class it will help me so much in getting adjusted to my new college life.

The second freshman seminar class was very interesting. We met our new instructor, Irina. She seems to have a very upbeat attitude and motivated to show us the ropes around school. She talked about why this course is made for us, which is to make us self-sufficient learners. I’m hoping the future classes and workshops we will go to will accomplish this task. I’m excited to go to the workshops and learn new things that will prepare me for the next four years.

Today was our second seminar meeting, the first being the 20 minute tour at the library. We were assigned a new instructor, Irina .  I look forward to attending the various workshops available to us, they seem very interesting. Although this freshman seminar does extend our day, I’m sure the information it provides us will be useful in our future careers at Baruch. I am most worried about my Math class, which is the most basic introductory math class available at Baruch. Hopefully the math requisites are not overwhelming for my major, International Business. I cannot wait until our next seminar/workshop.
