Club Fair

About a couple of weeks ago, I visited the Club Fair to see the various types of things Baruch has to offer. It was a lot crowded than i expected, but it was a nice thing seeing all these different faces and possibly their interests and hobbies. There was a multitude of many unique clubs, such as archery, cultural clubs, and sororities and fraternities.  I went with a couple of classmates from our seminar group, and it was fun.

We all some really interesting things. One group that caught my attention, but in an awkward way would have to be the “Vagina Warriors”. I think it was something about raising awareness in women and how to protect themselves, or something like that. But it just goes to show that the clubs had much variety to choose from.  Also, some clubs were giving out free food and candy and such, so that was always a plus. There was one group I wanted to  join, which was the archery club, because i always wanted to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, but unfortunately, the days didn’t work out with my schedule. So as I was looking around, I was hoping something would really catch my eye, something that represents me. And so on the last row, I encountered the Japanese Anime club. My first thought was to join this right away, because I am a huge fan of anime. The leader was telling us what we do on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it was the best thing anyone could ask for. Tuesdays we play video games and Thursdays we watch anime on a big projector screen.  Last week I went to the first session and it was great.

I’m actually glad I had the oppurtunity to go to the club fair, because I found a couple of things that piqued my interest, so now I can keep those in mind. At first,  I didnt want to join any clubs because I didnt want to waste time after class and burden myself with clubs and I just wanted to rest. But I realized I was wrong, and that the clubs shouldn’t be a burden, but a fun experience instead. So I encourage everyone to at least look into some clubs and possibly join one.
