Managing Relationships Workshop

Today, I attended the Managing Personal Relationships Workshop in the MultiPurpose Room. I thought it was a pretty nice workshop. The main speaker was a psychologist who is also a staff member at Baruch college. She seemed really nice and described all the possible relatioships that we may have to deal with in our lives. One of the relationships was friendship. She made everyone in the room get up and try to meet five people. Although this is a nice attempt at meeting people, I found it to be akward. I am shy and like many people I did not want to get up and talk to random strangers, even if I go to school with them now and may some day need them for networking purposes. Even if i did meet some people, I highly doubt that I will see them sometime soon and be able to have some kind of relationship with them. Maybe if there would be a smaller group of people it would be more effective. Besides that, I thought the workshop was interesting and actually made me think about the relationships in my life and how college life ties into everything.
