Personal Enrichment Workshop

On November 10th, I attended the Stress and Anxiety Reduction workshop. I must say it was very crowded workshop since they tried fitting everyone into a small classroom. The workshop was presented by two guys that were from the guidance department.  They talk about being mindful when you are stressed.  They wanted us to be “mindfulness”.  They wanted us to be in a being mood than doing mood. Also they told us it takes practice. They present us saying that thoughts are written in sand, not stone. It makes me feel better thinking like that.  They also taught a form of meditation that was very soothing. We learn assertiveness training that allow us to get by in a situation like asking for raise.  There is a certain way that you should ask so you don’t put the boss in a tough position or put yourself in a tough spot. They said we should state facts, your feelings, what you want, be confident, and if needed, compromise. I have to say this workshop allowed me to be less stressful especially having a test the next day. I must say the mediation did make me almost fall asleep. But overall in was a good workshop.
