On November 4, I attended the Play the Basics workshop at the Center for Academic Advisement. In this workshop, we learned about some general information about the center. I stepped into the workshop several minutes late because I had to wait on line before they took me inside. When I walked in, the group was already doing an icebreaker. We had to come up with a story using words that were on the board. Then we learned about some classes we should take in the future, like the required english and math classes. We also learned about the Degree Works program on the Baruch website. Degree Works basically tells you all the classes should take for a particular major. Then we moved over and talked about the STARR Carreer Development Center. We briefly went over some tests that can help you choose a major. This was basically it, the workshop only lasted around 30 minutes. |
