Community Global Awareness

For Community global awareness, I went to see a movie concerning teen drug abuse and unsafe sex practices. It was on a Friday, and the movie was pretty late, as I only have one class on Friday. When the time came to start the movie, it didn’t start. To my disappointment, I thought I had waited there for no reason. The person in charge was nice enough to give us a credit for still showing up though. However my curiosity made me go home and find the movie on the ever so great interweb. I downloaded it, sat down, and thought I was in for a very boring video. How wrong I was. The movie was quite graphic, which showed me the difference between a high school movie regarding drugs and sex compared to a college one. In this one, you actually see the horrors on intoxication. Young boys take advantage of girls who are drunk, going as far as to raping them. Although my eyes were already open to the problems with drugs and alcohol, this video opened it wider. It made me see that the things adult tells us are true, and that overdosing on alcohol and drugs is not cool.
