For personal enrichment, I went to a workshop called managing relationships in college. College is the time where many kids grow to become responsible adults, but before that happens, parents need to learn that their kid is grown up. The workshop explained to us that independence is very important at this time, however don’t completely ignore your parents. Now is the time to show that your an adult and can handle your own business. Your parents have been there for you, and now is the time to give back. Making new friends is also very important. By expanding your network, finding jobs becomes easier. College is known to be the best time to make close friends, friends that will be there for you your whole life. This workshop helped me to learn that I shouldn’t distance myself from my parents, but become closer to them.
