A Doll’s House

My English class attended the reading of Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” last Wednesday as a intro to our next topic we will be discussing in class.  I have already read the play before hand so I was curious to see it read out the way it was meant to.  Going in to the performance, the producer told us a character named Dr. Rank was cut from the play.  I was interested how seamless the play moved along without this character in it.  Now because it was a reading of the play, it wasn’t acted out to over dramatic, but the characters played accurate roles.  Overall, I felt that it was a great change of pace to see a play instead of just reading a book in class and after seein the play in it entirety, I have a better understanding for it.
