So yeah…I went to the Student Life Workshop, the “Freshman Open House” on Thursday Sept 17, 2009. It was pretty awesome, considering we didn’t do much and just got our books signed. Usually, they have about 100-200 freshman show up, but this time, EVERYONE showed up, so they didn’t have time to do their normal seminar, and they just signed the book and let us go. I hope the rest of the seminars go like this!
As one of the advisors who was involved in that mayhem, you will be pleased to know that you can stop by the Center for Academic Advisement and pick up the information that was in the folder. Just ask for it at the front counter. You can also see a peer advisor or any of the other advisors at anytime just by stopping by to ask questions. Phil
I remember that day, I still can’t believe everyone seriously tried to bum rush the small office. I’m amazed on how you took that nice lady’s cookies, but thank you again for the piece that you gave me. It did seem like a really cool workshop, if only we got to sit down and talk with them. Totally unfair that so many people went and then all the folders were taken away. I do enjoy the line waiting though, Cameron and I met a guy and his friend there on the line. Even in the off situation of just standing, making friends is a snap! Maybe that was workshop… standing in line to find friends.
