Basic Interviewing Skills

12:50-2:20. It ended early. WOO-HOO!!! and i got to finish my easy sudoku.

Basically, this was a long and boring, with instances of interesting thrown in there, workshop. The real problem was the woman who was administering the workshop. She had no spirit, no heart. I would not hire her if i was interviewing her.

She gave us a lot of tips what to do during the interview and afterwords. The thank you note was something that i had heard of, but had never really thought it was very important. Another important part was what you should do afterwords. She pointed out that we should come back, and even though I had heard of this, I had not seen an official bring it up.

The other points were not that important, and anyone with common sense could have thought of them. Don’t do certain things with your body, maintain eye contact, don’t be stupid. Basic, basic stuff.

Don’t wear a black suit. I thought that was interesting.

I learned a LOT. Most of the things she taught were common sense though, but a lot of little details were interesting and I’ll keep them in mind. It’s definitely the details that count. They’re what set you apart from everyone else. (aside from your grades)
