On Thursday, 10/8/09, at 12:45-2pm I attended the “managing relationships in college” workshop.
As a whole, the workshop was mainly about the big step into college and how we manage our personal life given that we are now in a new environment. We started off with introducing ourselves. To be honest, there are way too many icebreakers that go to waste because no one ever wants to do it. Many others, including me, were reluctant to participate, but as time went on the comfort level began to grow, I suppose… I remember someone who mentioned something about their relationship with family and school work became interfered. I can relate to that person because I live on my own apartment where I am distanced by my family. It makes me miss them more, but at the same time, the responsibilities that I’m not obligated to do has paved the path to my growth away from my nurturing parents, or so to say, “under their wing”.
