Due to being deferred I was unfortunately unable to give blood at the blood drive on October 16th. But I will talk about my previous experiences at blood drives because I have given blood twice before while I was in high school. The first time I volunteered to give blood I was extremely scared. I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. Honestly I was scared up until I was about half into the donation that i realized there was nothing to be scared of anymore the worst part was already over. So I started to think of the positive aspect of donating. How I was aiding this great organization and how I might be able to save a human life just by giving 2o minutes of my time to donate. About 2 months ago I got a call from a representative of the blood drive asking me to please come donate because they found a match. At that moment I really felt like I had made a difference in the world and put my time to good use. I was extremely proud of myself and I am really looking forward to going to more blood drives in the future.
