play~ Doll’s house

Well. I  have a chance to watch excellent which performed by baruch students. The play is likely 1.5 hours. I also stayed with Jihyun, and couple of classmates. In the play, the climax is showed by emotions and tones of actors. They did a good job. I want to how to act too. If I have the time to join any theater classes or clubs, I definitely join it!!!!!!

Doll House

I went to Doll’s House as the part of Art at Baruch workshop today at 2:30 pm.

it seems like i read the book long time ago, but i couldnt remember any details of the story. but when i watch the show, my lost memories remind me of the story. The acts were very good, and i also surprise by when the professor of performing art say they only did this for four day. i was surprised and i also like the actress who act as Nora, she seems very talented.

Personal Enrichment

On Thursday 10/29/09, I went to a personal enrichment workshop called, dealing with your conflict in school. It was a good workshop because the instructor motivated students to participate in the workshop. The instructor taught the class about OMBUDS person in the school. Basically, ombuds person is like a helper for students who have conflict. When a student feels stress, he or she can find the ombuds person and get help.(One example is that a student does not think that the person deserve higher grade in a class. If the student wants, ombuds person can talk to the professor and talk about the student.)

Arts at Baruch

I went to the freshmen seminar (art at baruch). It was a play of “A Doll House” with edited version(removing unnecessary part). I read the book at highschool, so i had no problem of understanding the play(For those who didn’t read, it might be hard to understand). I loved the actors and actress, especially the person who played Nora. The character’s transition of emotion was well depicted. I really recommend to watch the play.

Basic Interview

I went to Career Planning – Basic Interview on Oct 29. In the workshop, we learn what is good steps of how to prepare for the interview for jobs. We got the packet of the information, where it lists all the steps, what to do, and what not to do. I met few friends in the workshop, and learnt great information. I thought i never went to interview myself, but when i really think about the interview, i actually have been into one interview where that was groups session and individual. If i had know alot of these step, i could do better i thought so.

Anyway it was great to learn about interview and these steps and instruction will be great advantage for me when i go to job interview in future.

Career Planning – Internship

I went to Career planning – internship on Oct.22.2009. It was about a hour long workshop. It was really productive. They gave information about what kinds of internships there are, how to use baruch website to apply for internship, introducing leadership program since freshmen can’t apply for internship and how to prepare for it such as writing cover letter, resume, and interview. Although attending resume workshop is a requirement for making an appointment to Starr Career Center to help writing resume, internship workshop provides samples of resume and cover letters. They also showed that students can get a part time job through baruch website. I really liked the workshop.

Global Community

I went to Blood Drive on Oct.6.2009 for two purposes. One was to donate my blood to help patients who need it. Another one is to get stamped on my planner +_+. It was my first time to donate blood… so I was really nervous. First thing i had to do was filling out a form about yourself. This form includes questions like “Have you ever donated blood?” “Have you ever received blood from somebody?”…etc. Then, workers checked my blood pressure, and temperature to make sure that i am healthy. Next step is taking out my blood through a needle. I didn’t really feel much pain doing so. They gave me food, water, T-shirt, and stamp +_+. So if anyone wants to do something good, go to BLOOD DRIVE!!.

David Jackson-Academic Enrichment

I have resently attended the academic enrichment “fair”. It was a really informative experience. I learned a lot about Baruch and how to succeed academically. For instance I spoke with an individual that help me to pick out my classes for next semester. She told me the fastest way possible in order to get into the Zicklin business school. I also found out about the emergency center that if  I break my arm and cant write they could help me out. That is something that would be very usefull. Those are some of the things that I found out at this workshop

On October 8th 2009 I attended a personal enrichment workshop. This workshops purpose was to help me to manage personal relationships in college. It was a very interesting workshop because it provided me the information in order to maintain good relationships with people in college. There was a website that I learned about in the workshop that was basically like the facebook exept for baruch students. I think I might join that website. Also in the workshop it talked about maintain a good romatic relationship. The speaker talked about how to keep track of the space together and away form your partner. Those were some things that I found interesting about the workshop that I attended.
