I attended the club fair during our club hours around 1:30 pm. Basically when I got there I saw a lot of clubs and sororities and frats trying to get people to join them. My goal for attending this fair was to sign up for at least one club, which I did. I joined USG, which is the Undergraduate Student Government. I wanted to join this club because I think its a good club to have in such a large school. This club is basically the voice for the student body.
I guess this work shop did take me out of my comfort zone. I saw a lot of different people and actually communicated with them. So far most of the workshops I’ve gone to had only freshman and people I already knew, but here I interacted with people who were a lot more experienced in clubs and just the school life in general.
This was a fun experience. They had music, dancing, food and people yelling all over the place. It was a really exciting time. I would recommend that people attend these fairs. I got there a little later than I wanted to, so for anyone who wants to go, they should go early even though its crowded. Some of the clubs leave after a while. I learned that its never too early to join a club and it look greats on your application for jobs and etc. I really enjoyed the environment and the experience.
I’m glad you signed up for at least one club, especially USG! You are right, they are the voice of the student body! You are super correct about not being too early to join clubs and organizations. As I had mentioned in class, employers look for more than the GPA on your resume, they care about what you care about!
