I went to the Art Gallery tour of Mercedes Matter’s art on Tuesday November 3, from 1 to 3 pm. The tour location was 135 East 22nd Street. This was a very interesting experience for me, as I do not often go on art tours, but it was pretty awesome. The tour started off with earlier work, including work from childhood, continued to later work. The art was mostly still life work, but it got more complicated throughout the tour. Much of the work focused on shapes and color. This workshop was not necessarily outside my comfort zone, being that it was just a tour, but I was introduced to work that I have never seen before. This workshop was a great introduction to a different type of art, and I would definitely recommend it to another student.
