Gallery Tour: The Nature of Landscape/The Nature of Photography

Date/time of workshop: Wednesday, 10/13/09  1:00pm-2:00pm

I went to the the gallery tour in the Administrative Center building on 22nd street.  This gallery tour is all about presenting nature of landscape ways.  The photographers provides visitors different points of views of the nature.  One example explained is Lucien Clergue’s Four Nudes in the City, New York, 1983

The lady at the gallery explained that this picture was taken from the naked back of two men and two women. I was pretty impressed at the moment that I knew Clergue took this picture from human rather than the actual landscape.

I recommend this workshop to another student because it is very impressive.  Clergue presents visitors the landscape not simply taking photographs of it, but using curves of other things to present it.  The works at the gallery provide visitors a different way to look at the things we already know and a chance to appreciate nature.
