At least I think it was called that. The freshmen reception was hectic as heck! Nice simile huh? It really was, everyone was bustling around the fifth floor waiting on line just to get in. I believe the wait was about 20 minutes or so. Honestly though, I didn’t find the reception very effective. When we finally started moving, it ended up being held in an office. It was way too crowded in there, backs were being rubbed up against backs. Everyone just wanted to find out who was signing the sheet so they can get out of there as soon as possible. There was just a lot of sheets being passed around and I didn’t even get a folder! It’s okay though, I went around and picking at the sheets I found. I can not believe they expect us to read all that, I thought we were going into a seminar at first. Although, I do appreciate the fact that it was a short reception and that they left enough time for lunch and a nice break.
Well, I believe the purpose of the Freshmen reception was to 1) Educate you guys about the requirments to progress within the school, 2) make you guys aware of what the academic center has to offer, and 3) encourage you guys to meet new people.
I believe the center was not expecting as many students that came. Is there anything that you need clarity on?
