WORKSHOP: FRESHMAN RECEPTION

I didn’t know Bogging was so complicated. It took me an hour to crack my user name and another hour to retrieve my password, plus another hour to figure out where in the world I had to go to post my Blogg. I’m still not sure if I’m in the right place, but at least I’m posting it.

So, we were all invited to Freshman Reception, and somewhere along those lines we were all convinced that this was a mandatory workshop. Some one had to have told us that it was mandatory because 99% of freshmen were there, when only about 200 of us were expected.

The workshop was very informative but I felt ripped off. We arrived at the assigned room and it was infested with freshmen. Nobody knew where to go, or what the commotion was all about; we just went with the flow. So, we are taken to some room where a woman quickly went through a folder that every body seamed to own except me and a few people around me. She spoke very quickly and all of a sudden we were dismissed. I had assumed that the workshop was going to take up all of our Club Hours, but we were there only a few minutes, AND we got no cookies.

The little information that I received, however, was very helpful. I never knew it was mandatory to declare a minor, I was always just focused on choosing a Major. So now I have to keep that in mind. I also learned that there are Tier I II and III credits that have to be attained, in a specific order in order to graduate. She also spoke about GPA calculations which didn’t make any sense until my FRO professor, Elaine Cataletto, explained it one more time. She brought us the folder that we didn’t receive at the workshop, and I will be sure to hold on to it.

Well, I hope this post doesn’t get lost somewhere in this website that I know nothing about. haha : /
