Mediating Conflict and Resolving Dispute

Today I went the the Mediating Conflicts workshop. The presenter at this workshop is the ombudsman at Baruch. Previously I didn’t really know what an ombudsman was. I learned that this is the person who you should go to if you  need help resolving a conflict. They are a mediator and they will work with all members of the Baruch community. We did a role-playing activity in small groups where we were to resolve a conflict. Later, the groups presented their problem and solution. It was good to see ways in which to resolve conflicts among peers and with teachers. I learned that before speaking with the ombudsman it is better to speak with the person first. Most conflicts will be resolved in this way.
