freshmanseminar

The past freshman seminar where we criticized the teachers, talked about our problems with the college and other stuff;

It was a very funny class since people got their say on how they feel about the college and the professors.  I was surprised to see that we thought the same way about certain teachers. I was also surprised that our freshman seminar teacher wasn’t there..again.. It’s ironic they expect us to be in class when the professor herself doesn’t show up.

Library Tour

The library tour from a couple of weeks ago was interesting. I was surprised it passed by so quickly. The tour was quick and to the point though, Deepa did a good job of showing us around quickly and quietly so we could know the place better. I was just glad it was over.

Freshman Seminar

Today’s lecture on class registration was very informative to me. Prior to this seminar, i didn’t know what i would do if i began to fail one of my courses. Dropping a course before i fail, proves to be much more beneficial to my GPA, rather that sticking it out and completing a course I’m not comfortable taking.

Freshman Seminar

Today’s freshman seminar was very informative. I’m glad they explained what classes we are supposed to take, which ones are strongly recommended and which ones we should just choose for fun. I feel I am more aware of which courses I should take now as a result.

Student Services Fair

The Student Services Fair was very well organized. I learned useful information about financial aid, health services, academic advisement, tutoring, and studying abroad. If I stay at Baruch I will most likely study abroad. In addition to study abroad, there are exchange programs that I am interested in. It is good to know that my financial aid covers the study abroad program. The financial aid table offered good tips on when to apply for financial aid and the steps I should take once I file.

workshop academic advisement

I thought this workshop was interesting because their was different programs in school i didn’t know about. I liked that we got to ask questions to the people that were their. I also liked how it was organized because it had different sections of student services. I actually learned somethings i needed to know for example when to start registering for class Etc.

freshmen seminar

I thought the only helpful thing we did in class was talk about the class we had more trouble with. It was interesting because most of us in the class choosed the same class to talk about. I thought the class was ok but it didnt go that seriously.

Last weeK…..

Well this past week at Baruch was a good one for me. I took my first exam and i past it. Congrats to me. You’ve got to love numbers. I met up with a old friend from high school who graduated a year before I did. Here I thought I was the only person from my high school to go to Baruch. Tuesday and Wensday there was a blood drive in the multi-purpose room. I went and donated some blood. It was interseting was all that blood just flow into a bag. I did end up with the feel of vomiting but besides that it felt good to donate blood. I helping someone who got in an accident or has been shot and lost lots of blood. Good feeling. Until next week

Managing Relationships

Monday’s Freshman Seminar class was interesting because i got to hear the different opinions of the other people in my block. It was amusing to learn that I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t understand my english professor or got annoyed with my calc professor’s lack of attention span.

I also went to the Managing Relationships workshop. The psychology professor lectured us on how to spend time with our ‘significant other’. I’m not sure what we where supposed to learn from that workshop but I did get to meet a few new people.
