For the Academic enrichment workshop I attended the student services fair in the beggining of the Fall Semester. The fair helped me acqueint my self with important offices and people I kneed to know in Baruch College. I learned about specific fuinctions of offices in Baruch naminglyly the Sacc and Starr which are important for career and educational support. It6 was important and very informative for me to attend to this and I am glad that Baruch gave me the chance to be acqueinted with these potentialy important offices in Baruch.
Academic Enrichment
Gallery Tour
i attended a gallery tour workshop and though it was kind of short and im not really an art person, it was very interesting. i still love to see beautiful artwork, eventhough i cant draw for my life. i just love looking at art so i can make up a story for it in my mind. these works of art that we saw were so pretty and inspiring that i came home that day and tried to make one myself and it didnt work out. but in the end, the gallery tour ended short but it was all inspiring and very beautiful. the group that i was in was huge but i was talking to others about the art.
Academic Enrichment
I went to the academic enrichment workshop and as everyone else said it was very chaotic and crowded. I hardly got anything accomplished there because everyone was pushing and shoving to get the papers. I got some papers about minors and majors and stuff and it kinda helped when i read it after but i didnt really learn anything at this workshop. the snacks were good though.
Impression Management
I attended a workshop called impression management on september 13th. The lady talked to us about first impressions when we’re getting a job or going to a job interview. She told us exactly what to do, what to say and what to wear. She also told us exactly how to act and what interviewers like in general. I learned that first impressions are very important. She shared her own personal experiences with us and I think that helped us learn what not to do. She had different slides about a lot of different things. The workshop was very long but it taught me a lot about how to get a job and how to impress the people at the company. Some of the things i already knew, but it was so surprising how much more there is to impressing a company when you want a job somewhere.
Stress and Anxiety
I attended a personal enrichment workshop called Stress and Anxiety on November 3rd. It was short but it was very interesting and helpful. There were two guys there and they talked to us about the amount of stress and anxiety that comes with college life. They were both very nice and did some exercises with us and it was a lot of fun. They communicated with us in a way where they connected with us and shared their own experiences with us. We did activities in this workshop and it wasn’t too long so it was very good.
Club Fair
I went to the club fair on september 24 and it was a great experience for me because it showed me all of the different clubs and organizations at Baruch. It was a lot of fun because people came up to me talking to me about different clubs and I got a lot of information about all of them. It really made me consider joining some clubs when before I never thought about it. The club fair opened my eyes to great opportunites and I met a lot of new people.
Club Fair
The club fair was a fun experience where everyone came together. i joined a couple clubs, such as BSU CSA HIp Hop 201. The festive events lighten the mood, and was a fun experience for everyone. The clubs however were very stingy with the food and beverges.
Ethics
The speaker was ssaying that everything is in a gray zone, that there is no right or wrong. I found this very interesting cause this is the topic that we are studying in philosophy class. it seems to be a controversial topic in our modern day America also.
Managing Relationships
I also attended this workshop with my colleague Mark, we actually had to remember peoples names from different section of the room, since it was split into three section. It helped us come out of our comfort zone, and approached other people we would not have normally approached. Furthermore, we also learned about the professional resources LinkedIn; which I have one. Overall the workshop was pretty normal.
