The club fair is a perfect opportunity for you guys to find a club that interest you and allows you to become more involved in your school. By joining a club, you get the chance to meet new people and get a sense of campus life. Instead of going to school everyday and then going home right after, you might find that you really enjoy your club and become more involved outside of club hours. There are about 170 clubs in Baruch so the chance of finding something you enjoy is very likely.
After going to today’s club fair, I want you all to tell me which ones you’re interested in joining and why it appeals to you. What does this club have to offer you and what type of activities do they do? You could also include your experience and what type of thoughts were going through your mind upon entering the gym where the club fair was being held.
Since freshman convocation I became interested in the Latin Ballroom Club. I have yet to join 🙁 I find that I enjoy my free time and don’t want to have to be in a certain place each Tuesday and Thursday. I’ll most likely join a club next year when I’m more comfortable with my schedule. My first thought as I walked into the gym that day was “Whoa! Could there BE any more people in here??” It was so interesting to see how each club represented themselves and gave away free stuff to lure us in. Either way, school spirit was definitely not lacking in there.
At first glance, the Baruch club fair may seem a bit overwhelming to many. However, once I got there, it was easy to follow the flow of the fair. The main purpose is to walk around and see which clubs are of interest to you. Club members assist you by giving a brief summary of the club, its motives, and its commitment. One club that interested me the most was AIESEC. This club is very similar to a study abroad program, however, its main goal is to stress the importance of leadership to its members. This is done by providing the members with a trip to a foreign country where they can work for the leading men in big businesses. I am thinking of perhaps joing this club next year.
I think it is wonderful that Baruch has such opportunities as the club fair, to help students interact and indulge something they like on campus, rather than just studying. Although, club fair wasn’t much use to me, but a necessity for my freshman orientation class I think it might have been very help full for many others who are interested in all sorts of organization. It wasn’t help full for me only because I am very involved as it is : I am on the Swimming team in Baruch, and also am a prospect for the Theta Phi Gamma Sorority, I also might be joining a french club my friend is hopefully starting soon, so I am a busy student, and hopefully every other freshman student is as well.

My thoughts when I was entering the gym for Thursday’s Club Fair was that it was extremely crowded. There was a line to get in but it was a good sign because it showed that the freshman class wanted to be more involved in the school. There were many clubs set up throughout the gymnasium but many of them were culture based so it narrowed the choices down. After walking around I noticed a club I was interested in, Ascend which is an organization geared towards accounting and finance majors. They have a mentoring program where business partners from a corporation mentors you. It sounded interesting and I plan to learn more about this club. I also looked around at other clubs that I don’t really remember at the moment and there a few sororities there but I lacked interest in joining one.
I went to the club fair last thursday, and I was pretty much expecting hordes of people as always, so it was nothing new to me; kind of getting used to it. I saw interesting clubs, such as billiards and bowling club, and ballroom dancing club. (Just an example; not interested) One of the clubs that I’m interested in joining is the Intervarsity Christian Club, or the KCCC, which some of my friends might join. Overall, free candy and free highlighters are a plus for club fairs, and I got to know a lot of clubs I’ve never known about before.
Oh Thursday I went to the club fair, not expecting it would be so crowded, and not expecting the mass of people waiting at the entrance. So I left to eat lunch, to return later. Even though I went into the club fair at 2:00 it was still crowded, but there was no line to get in. There were many clubs with eager students behind the tables ready to fill us in about their club. The Internships Abroad interested me, and I went to get an application because I plan to study abroad, and internship in the UK. I think the fair was a great idea. Even though we have club hours ever Thursday, many freshmen don’t know about all the clubs they can join. Now that we’ve had a club fair, it will make joining clubs much easier.
Coming into Thursday’s Club Fair was a little overwhelming and crowded. After squeezing past the main crowd I found a lot of interesting and different clubs that Baruch has to offer. I’m still not sure if I would join a sorority but the clubs I probably will. The clubs that caught my attention were the American Humanics Association at Baruch College which offers leadership skills and help with non-profit organizations like charities, fundraisers, etc. Another was the AIESEC which at first I thought was like Study Abroad but is entirely different, these students participated in actual work with foreign people and companies doing amazing things like one student that worked under a CEO for a Japanese waste management company/program. These clubs would definitely help me with my International Business major and I’ll definitely be coming back for next semesters Club Fair.
On Thursday, I went to the club fair. It was extremely crowded but offered a variety of things. I am interested in joining the National Honor Society and the Pi Sigma Epsilon . The Pi Sigma Epsilon offers leadership and officer training. It will be useful in the future when pursuing a career in the business field. The National Honor Society enhances experience. I also want to participate in internships. As I was entering the gym, I thought it was lively and the people were very friendly. It is an interesting experience and I would recommend all Freshman Students to attend. It is very useful and informative.
I went to the club fair today and had no idea what to expect, like I didnt know which clubs I would be interested in joining so I walked around an found a few that were quite appealing. First I found the apple mac club which on a monthly basis has meetings which are only beneficial to mac users. If I want to know anything about my mac laptop than I can ask them and find out. Another group I looked into was the Chabad group, this group is beneficial to me because I am Jewish and they will help me if I ever need anything that involves Judaism. I liked Baruch’s idea of a fair because it makes finding out about groups so much easier.
