Student Services Fair

A few weeks ago I attended the Student Services Fair. What I thought was pretty clever on the coordinators part was that if we wanted our sheet signed, we had to get this sheet of paper holepunched 9 times and we’d do that by visiting each table so in a way we were forced to engage in the fair. The only two issues were that 1. a lot of the people who had questions were rushed by people who just wanted to hurry on up and get their sheet signed, and 2. a lot of the information didn’t really apply to freshman and definitely was more useful to upperclassmen. I did learn about the STARR career development center which sounds pretty cool and really helpful though. I wouldn’t really recommend the fair to anyone who has real questions on these services as they may get more help and better answers by going to each of these places individually, so they don’t get rushed by the herd.
