Personal Enrichment

I attended the personal enrichment workshop for managing relationships in college. The workshop was ok but they didnt say anything new to me. I know its important to maintain relationships in college but I think how you maintain them is based on the person. I already know that keeping in touch with friends is important and maintianing a reltionship is important but I use my own methods on how to. No one should tell you how to do it. It should come naturally to you. But for people who have trouble doing this, I guess it was informative for them. In my opinion they could have just asked a classmate for that information. Even when they broke us up into groups and talked to other people, it wasnt very helpful. I dont even remember who I talked to or what their names were. Not a very helpful workshop.

I went to a personal enrichment workshop for Mediating Conflicts. A woman from OMBUDS came into to talk about the different types of conflict at Baruch and how they are solved. There are usually 2 types of conflict, peer to peer and student to professor. Then she put us into groups and had us role play as if we were OMBUDS and others in our groups were students or faculty. She gave each group a scenario to act out. Even though it was a registration only workshop, a lot of people came and it was difficult for each group to present their scenario and most were very similar. We were encouraged to use the OMBUDS for any issues we might have in the future.
