Arts at Baruch

So I went to the Sally Mishkin art gallery on November 3rd. It was pretty crowded with everyone trying to fullfill their workshops. I liked the first painting in black and white when you first enter the gallery. I noticed that the artist used a lot of shapes such as triangles and that their was a table in a lot of her paintings. But the tour guide was pretty boring and we were a large group so it was easy to get distracted and not listen to her. It was also rushed since a hundred other freshmen were trying to get in. All and all, her art is not my cup of tea but I appreciate her as an artist.  I;m not really into abstract art.

It was an ardous task to fulfill my art requirement, when i attended the Sally Mishkin gallery on Nov 3rd. Although it was no Picasso, art has always had an strong effect on my perception of life. Like my fellow colleagues said, there were many colors that stimulated the eyes, and abstract shapes that molded the mind. Great experience.

I also went to the Sidney Mishkin gallery on Nov. 3rd. It was crowded and I had to wait on the line for a long time. After about half an hour of waiting I got in to see the paintings. They were very abstract and colorful. She was able to create images out of ordinary things such like triangles which she used quite often. But the tour guide didn’t really inspire me to look at it closely. I liked her black and white paintings but the tour guide did not go into detail about them. I think she was pretty talented to create painting like that, even at the young age of 9. The tour was over in 15 minutes but it was informative about Mercedes Matter’s art work.
